Westsyde Whundas handle Southridge Storm with ease

Game 4 of the 2A BC Boy's Championships, the Westsyde Whundas beat the Southridge Storm 55-37. The Whundas led the entire game, with no real scare from the Storm.
At the end of the 1st Quarter, Westsyde led 19-6. Westsyde’s ball movement and dribble penetration made it tough for the Storm to rotate defensively.
At the half, the #2 ranked Westsyde led 39-16 over the #15 ranked Southridge. With some exciting blocks, knock down 3’s, transition lay-ups from both teams, the Whundas seemed to poised and confident to let go of their lead. The Whundas made it a focus to limit the Storm’s 2nd chances on the offensive boards. Once a shot went up, you saw all 5 Westsyde players box out.
To start the 2nd half, the Storm made some defensive adjustments, by going to their full court press and dropping back to a 2-3 zone, but the Whundas were prepared.
At the end of the 3rd Quarter, the Whundas lead 49-31, with their largest lead being 23 points. The Whundas were aggressive on the offensive boards with 11, and comfortably won the rebounding category 47-38.
To start the 4th Quarter, both teams struggled to score, at the 6 minute mark, Westsyde still lead 49-33. The storm just wasn’t able to put a run together to scare the Whundas. Your final was 55-37 for the Westsyde Whundas.
Player of the game, #13 Spencer Ledoux lead all scorers with 18 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocks. For the Storm, #16 Aidan Alderson led the way with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Both teams will resume play on Thursday, where the Whundas will be taking on the Clarence Fulton Maroons at 8:15pm, and the Storm will play the Collingwood Cavaliers at 12:00pm.
