As some teams looked for their second win, others looked to redeem their losses. Read all of the game recaps from Day 2 of The Big Ticket below:

Junior Girls

Game 1 - McMath Wildcats vs. Panorama Ridge Thunder

What a doozy of a game! With much back-and-forth play, only one team could come out victorious and luckily for the McMath Wildcats, they were able to hold on with a 39-38 win over the Panorama Ridge Thunder.

Game 2 - Earl Marriott Marinders vs. Seycove Seyhawks

Both teams were looking for their first win of the tourney, but Seycove wanted it just a little more. The Seyhawks took the W with a final score of 46-29 over the Mariners.

Game 3 - Argyle Pipers vs. Lord Tweedsmuir Panthers

Argyle 'piped' it up this game! With clever ball handling and a whole lot of precision on D, the Pipers defeated the Panthers 52-16.

Game 4 - Riverside Rapids vs. Fleetwood Park Dragons

With both teams coming off a win from Day 1 at The Big Ticket, this game was a great one to end Day 2. Though the Dragons had a promising start, the Rapids never let go of the lead throughout the match. Riverside beat Fleetwood with a final score of 68-30.

Game 1 – Walnut Grove Gators vs. St. John Brebeuf Bears

The junior Gators came back with a vengeance today! They defeated the St. John Brebeuf Bears 50-26. POG went to Grove's Emma Slade.

Game 2 – Terry Fox Ravens vs. Yale Lions

Terry Fox continued their hot streak on the court in their second game of the tournament, taking home yet another W against Yale. Ravens beat the Lions 65-39.

Game 3 – Abbotsford Panthers vs. Seaquam Seahawks

Despite a close start and game throughout, the Seaquam Seahawks snagged their first win at The Big Ticket with a final score of 37-30 over the Abbotsford Panthers.

Game 4 – MEI Eagles vs. Brookswood Bobcats

The Eagles continued their winning streak on Day 2, improving to 2-0 on the tournament by defeating the Brookswood Bobcats 40-32. Sidney Giesbrecht was named Player of the Game.

Senior Girls

McMath Wildcats vs. St. John Brebeuf Bears

Day 2 of The Big Ticket saw some redemption by the McMath Wildcats as they were able to claim their first win of the tournament over the St. John Brebeuf Bears. The game was close, however, with the final score being 56-49 in favour of the Wildcats. Marina Radocaj claimed her first Player of the Game honours.

Earl Marriott Mariners vs. Collingwood

The Mariners battled back in their second game of the tournament to grab the W against rival Collingwood. Earl Marriott defeated their opponent 74-49 and appointed Talia Sireni POG.

GW Graham Grizzles vs. Yale Lions

In a battle of the beasts, the Yale Lions showed their teeth (and their grit) on the court by defeating the Grizzlies 64-50. Yale's Neelam Rai was named Player of the Game.

Abbotsford Panthers vs. Panorama Ridge Thunder

Host school Abby Senior continued their dominance in the paint by putting up a whopping 100 points in their second match at Big Ticket. With Marin Lenz--who fittingly was named Player of the Game) on fire, as usual, they shut down the Thunder 100-56.

Game 1 – Burnaby South Rebels vs. Handsworth Royals

Somewhat close game to start off Day 2 of the Big Ticket tournament at Riverside Secondary School. Handsworth led 31-24 at the half, continuing their lead into a 73-52 win over Burnaby South. Player of the game, Julia Strigl, scored 15 points for the Royals.

Game 2 – Argyle Pipers vs. McNair Marlins

The Pipers started off strong with a 12-0 run. With both teams coming off a loss from Day 1, it was bound to be fast-paced. Arygle shut down McNair in nearly every quarter, eventually defeating the Marlins 79-15. Ella Mellinghaus was named Player of the Game.

Game 3 – Riverside Rapids vs. Whistler Storm

Two elements. One winner. With both teams coming off a win from Day 1, this game was intense from tip-off. Riverside put the first points on the board and continued their momentum early on. Both teams played tough D, rarely giving up chances for their opposition to find the hoop. Riverside took their second win of the tournament 72-42, with Adrienne Willems named the POG.

Game 4 – Seycove Seyhawks vs. Walnut Grove Gators

Senior Gators came out chompin’ in this one! They were the first to put up points, but the Seyhawks stayed close behind on the scoreboard. Though the game started slow for both ends, Walnut Grove upped the intensity in the second half, defeating Seycove 88-52. The Gators will face the Rapids on Day 3--it's bound to be the game of the day, so be sure to pop by Riverside's gym to catch all the action.
