The Big Ticket 2019: Day 4 Recap


All the action in The Big Ticket has moved to Abbotsford for the final two days! We'll be doing an as-accurate-as-possible recap of all the games from today.


Senior Boys


Jayden Bunga (#1) put up 10 points in the fourth quarter to help the Yale Lions get the win over the St Patrick's Celtics. Daniel Marcelo (#16) put up 23 points, including 6 threes, in a losing effort for the Celtics.

Home court proved to be advantageous for the Abbotsford Panthers as they beat the McMath Wildcats 89-72. the Panthers scored 20-plus points in each of the final three quarters while playing superb defense to hold the Wildcats below 20 in each quarter to win the game.


The Big Ticket Senior Boys Final is all set between the home teams Abbotsford Panthers and the Yale Lions.


Senior Girls


In the Terry Fox Ravens vs. the Heritage Woods Kodiaks game, the Ravens held the lead 35-27 at halftime and never looked back from there, winning the game by 13, 64-51.

In the second semifinal, the Walnut Grove Gators scored big against the Riverside Rapids, winning by twenty, 86-66.

The Big Ticket Seniors Girls Final is set for tomorrow at Abbotsford Senior between the Terry Fox Ravens and the Walnut Grove Gators.


Junior Boys


In the Junior boys side of The Big Ticket, Gladstone Secondary School and the St Patrick's Celtics kicked off the day with bombs from deep, combining for 19(!) threes, but Gladstone took it over the Celtics, 69-54.


The Burnaby South Rebels upset the home team Abbotsford Panthers 67-35

The Big Ticket Junior Boys Final is set between Gladstone and the Burnaby South Rebels.


Junior Girls


On the girls side of things, the Seaquam Seahawks snuck through with a 48-43 win over the MEI Eagles. Annika Hiderbrand (#30) dropped 25 in a losing effort but it wasn't enough for the Eagles as the Seahawks had two players, Shaunti Gill (#21) and Jasmine Sidhu (#13), score double digits.


In the other semifinal game, the Yale Lions didn't give the Abbotsford Panthers much of a chance, smothering them 53-28. The Lions had a balanced with at least 3 players scoring at least 8 or more points.


The Big Ticket Junior Girls Final is set between the Seaquam Seahawks and the Yale Lions, tomorrow at Abbotsford Senior Secondary School.
