The Big Ticket 2019: Day 3 Recap

The final day of pool play at The Big Ticket had arguably the most intense games of the tournament thus far. Here's a quick whip around in case you missed anything.

Junior Girls

At Pitt Meadows, Yale was able to win 58-42, and Seycove scored a tight 33-31 victory. In all, Seaquam and MEI will be going to Abbotsford along with the host Panthers, and Yale.

Junior Boys

Out at Saint George's Senior School, Handsworth beat the host Saints while A.R. MacNeill scored nine unanswered to end the game and win 60-58.

But the craziest ending was saved for the last game. Down two, Gladstone had four three throws at the line. They make three of them and win 50-49. What an insane finish. And shoutout to both teams for a heck of a game.

At Elgin, Centennial defeated North Surrey 45-32. The Orcas bested the Fighting Irish, but Mikyle Malabuyoc had 34 points for Vancouver College. Saint Patrick's had another high scoring affair, putting up 84 points in their victory and the mini North Delta Huskies won their game against the Wildcats.

Burnaby South scored big against Pinetree out at Pitt Meadows, and Panorama Ridge took care of business against hosts GW Graham out in Chilliwack. Lord Tweedsmuir beat Argyle the game before.

Senior Girls

At Abbotsford Senior, Southridge got a big win over Pitt Meadows and the host Panthers cruised to victory over Chilliwack rivals G.W. Graham. Marin Lenz had 25 points. Earl Marriott won a nail biter against Mouat, and the Walnut Grove Gators beat the Terry Fox Ravens 95-86. Sophia Wizotski got a whopping 37 points and nine three's.

North Surrey beat Surrey rivals Fleetwood Park 63-58 at Riverside. Keri Brar had 12 points in her team's victory. Panorama Ridge scored a big victory against the Handsworth Royals, and the Burnaby South Rebels beat Collingwood 64-50.

And at McMath Secondary, the host Wildcats beat Argyle 65-52 in a rematch of last year's Crehan Cup final. York House was able to defeat Steveston-London, and Seycove got back into the win column. Heritage Woods won in the final game of the day 49-44 to win the bracket.

Senior Boys

Abbotsford Traditional got as close to a big home win as you can not actually playing at home, winning comfortably over the North Surrey Spartans at nearby Abby Senior. The Brookswood boys got by the Rick Hansen Hurricanes. Guildford Park beat Surrey rivals Panorama Ridge 63-56, with Sidhu from Panorama getting 19 points.

At Thomas Haney, Windermere scored a close 78-73 win in the 3:00 game against Riverside and Sardis won their game 81-78 over the hosts. Port Moody bested David Thompson 88-83, and Yale beat Steveston-London to win the pool.

And finally, out at Killarney, Churchill won 79-73 against the Grey Ghosts of Lord Byng. In the final game of the day, McMath defeated Saint Thomas Aquinas to earn the right to go to Abbotsford tomorrow.
