Sullivan Heights comeback falls just short in loss to Abby Senior

Abbotsford Senior took on Sullivan Heights in the third quarterfinal of the day in the AAA bracket. The Panthers were dominant for three quarters, but a late surge from the Stars certainly had them sweating late.
The first half was controlled by Abbotsford Senior. After leading by 12 after one, they extended that lead to 16 after two. Sienna Lenz had 19 first half points, including a beautiful layup followed by a behind the back assist to Marin Lenz for three.
The second half was on its way to being more of the same. By the 7:30 mark of the third period, Abbotsford had a commanding 23 points lead. But Sullivan Heights began to climb back. As Abbotsford failed to score for three minutes, big threes from Sophia and Emma Kramer whittled down the lead to just eight in the final minute.
Sullivan had two straight three point attempts miss, and couldn’t control an inbound with seconds left. Sienna Lenz scooped it up and held on until the final whistle.

“I think we just have to put this one behind us” said Abbotsford Senior head coach Prentice Lenz. “I thought we played three pretty good quarters, and whether we got tired or they tightened up on what we wanted to do they certainly tightened the gap in that quarter.
But I think it’s good to play in that sort of environment, so you know what the nerves are going to feel like.
Sienna Lenz and Marin Lenz had 21 and 23 points respectively. For Sullivan Heights, Emma Kramer had 22 points and 14 rebounds.
