Riverside's Jessica Parker commits to UFV

One of the best teams in the province, Riverside Secondary, has a player that will be taking her talents out to the Fraser Valley. Jessica Parker will play for the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades come the fall of 2019.
“The main reasons why I chose to go to UFV was because it is close to home” explained Parker on her decision to choose UFV. “It is in the middle from where Princeton is and where my homestay is in Port Coquitlam. I can still be connected with the important people in my life. I also love the team, I have played with a few of them and they fit so perfectly with the way I want my life to be. I love the familiarity of having a funny team to be with, it will make the experience so much greater.”
“Having Jess play in our program has been a joy” said Anthony Beyrouti, her head coach at VK Basketball. “She adds competitiveness and toughness to any team and I project her to be a fantastic USports player.”
Riverside is one of the favourites to win the AAA provincial championships this season. With a strong returning group of Seniors, they will be a formidable opponent for anyone.
“We think Jessica is that rare combination of a guard who plays with toughness and grit but also has multiple offensive tool” said her future coach at UFV, Al Tuchscherer. “She can get out and run in transition, can finish at the rim in traffic and can also shoot the ball. We are really excited for what Jess is going to bring to our team.”
