Richmond, B.C.'s Fardaws Aimaq and Texas Tech Upset the Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns found themselves on the wrong end of the score following an upset by Texas Tech.
The Red Raiders successfully converted on all nine free throws in the first half and went seven of twelve from three, taking a 44-35 lead.
Texas Tech fought off the Longhorns in the second half taking home a 74-67 victory.
De’vion Harmon led the way with twenty-five points, and Richmond’s Fardaws Aimaq pitched in with a team-high eight rebounds and twelve points.
Aimaq played in his fifth game for Texas Tech and started in his third game for the Red Raiders. Aimaq transferred to Texas Tech from Utah Valley, where he captured the 2022 & 2021 Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
Toronto’s Elijah Fisher, a former participant in British Columbia’s BBall Nationals, also chipped in with four points and five rebounds off the bench.
The Red Raiders are now 3-2 in their last five against the Longhorns. Texas Tech will play West Virginia next Saturday, February 18th.
