#RepYourRegion: Live2Give excited to Attend Bballnationals this year.
Updated: Jul 2, 2019

Last year, when Live2Give Academy organizer and coach Jun Labrador learned about Bballnationals, he decided to give it a try and registered one of his teams. Impressed with the experience, Live2Give is returning for the 2019 edition, and this time they are bringing four teams.

“This is our second time at Bballnationals,” says Labrador. “It’s the competition, it’s also the environment, like it was such good exposure for the kids. And the kids love it too.”
Many of the players on last year’s U13 boys team will be returning as Live2Give will bring two U14 boys teams, a U16 boys team, and a U18 team.
Labrador explained the highlight of the tournament wasn’t just the competition, but that his players got to watch and learn what other clubs across Canada were doing.

“Even just watching,” he says. “Seeing like defence skills from different provinces, so the kids actually enjoyed watching those too.”
Live2Give Academy is based in Tri-Cities, “but we have kids everywhere,” Labrador notes, with players from Surrey and Maple Ridge. The basketball arm of Live2Give — which also includes a men’s league — supports medical mission work in the Philippines done by Live2Give Ministry.
Bballnationals caps a “pretty busy” summer for the club.
“We can’t wait,” says Labrador. “It was a really good environment for the kids and they enjoy it.”
Spots are still available for Bballnationals, which goes from July 29th to August 5th at the Langley Events Center. Registration closes July 1st.
