Karsen Look commits to University of Victoria

Updated: Nov 1, 2018

The University of Victoria Vikes have added a serious piece to their already impressive puzzle. Karsen Look, a dominant post player for the Brookswood Bobcats and VK Basketball, will be donning the Blue and Yellow of UVic next year in the fall of 2019.

“We are very excited to welcome Karsen on board as a Vike” said University of Victoria Women’s Basketball Head Coach, Dani Sinclair. “She is a great fit and will help to add size and depth to our roster. Karsen has a great feel for the game and we look forward to her development but believe she can be a contributor right away.”

“Karsen has the most upside of anyone in the province” said Anthony Beyrouti, head coach of VK Basketball. “[She is a] very hard worker, loves the game, and has been putting in a lot of time outside of practice. She’s got great coaching at the high school level and I think she’s going to be a player to watch during the high school season.”

Look was an integral part of the VK U17 team that won the national championship at Bballnationals in August and travelled around extensively in the US with the team to tournaments in Phoenix and Chicago. Her Brookswood Bobcats finished 5th at the AAA Provincial Championships last season.

"I’ve wanted to go to UVIC since the first time I visited their campus and stepped foot in their gym" said Look to BC Sports Hub. "The Vikes have an awesome program and coaching staff and I can’t wait to start working with them. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of their program and am looking forward to next season."

You can catch Karsen in action along with other top BC high school basketball talent at the Big Ticket Tournament from November 26th to December 1st. The semi-finals and finals will be held at Simon Fraser University on November 20th and December 1st.
