Brentwood College cruised past the Seycove Seyhawks

Brentwood came out of the gates with dominance on their minds, forcing the Seyhawks to 4/20 shooting in the first quarter, by stretching out defense to limit the 3 ball from Seycove.

The Seyhawks struggled to keep Brentwood off the glass, to slow them down in transition and to guard their dribble penetration. Brentwood ended the 1st quarter 26-12, and extended their lead to 37-19 halfway through the 2nd quarter. The largest lead of the 1st half was 47-25, for Brentwood, who went into the halftime break with a comfortable 47-29 lead.

Brentwood shot 20/46, at 43.5% from the floor, lead by Bruno Chan and Nathan Pasloske with 10pts each. Meanwhile the Seyhawks were 9/42, at 21.4% from the floor, shooting 4/16 from behind the arc. Top scorers at the half for the Seyhawks were Dylon Matthews and Jayden Clayton with 7pts a piece, and Christopher Ross grabbing 7rebs. Brentwood’s aggressiveness forced the Seyhawks into 12 turnovers in the first half.

To start the 2nd half Brentwood showed no letdowns, going on a 7-0 run to take a 54-29 lead, and pushed it to 60-31, before a much needed timeout by Seyhawks to stop the bleeding. Everything seem to be going well for Brentwood, who held a 31pts lead halfway in the 3rd. The Seyhawks’ offensive struggles continued, as Brentwood scored layups after layups on almost every one of their missed shot or turnovers.

The 3rd quarter ended with Brentwood in command 77-44. The Seyhawks were never able to find an offensive groove and seemed to panic against Brentwood’s defense. Despite both teams pulling out most of their starters, Brentwood walked their way to the championship game with a 95-57 blowout.

Leading contributors for Brentwood were Ian Grabher with a game high 19pts, 7rebs, 5asts & 3 steals, Bruno Chan dropped 18pts, 4asts and a game high 7 steals. Dimonachie finished with 10pts & 7 boards, and Olatunbosun had 10pts & 9rebs. For the Seyhawks scored 18pts, Christopher Ross had 10pts and pulled down a game high 13rebs.
