Avery Sussex would finish the game with 27 points, and Annabelle Nuefeld would score 12 of her 14 exclusively from beyond the arch.
Despite the Owl’s loss Mav Chahal, a grade 10 guard for the Owls, shined brighter than ever.
Chahal brought an infectious energy to the court, putting pressure on Rapids star Avery Sussex throughout the game. In addition to her defensive performance, Chahal caught fire from deep and found teammates for easy buckets.
The Owls had a great showing this year and will have the luxury of running it back in 2024 with an identical roster.
Pemberton Wills Gators Past Spartans
In a finals atmosphere, the Gators and Spartans had onlookers watching in disbelief until the final buzzer.
The Spartans perfected their game plan, holding a 6-point lead in the dying embers of a phenomenal playoff battle.
Clutch free throws from Kiera Pemberton would put the Gators down 2 points at 70-72. With little time left on the clock, Pemberton brought the ball down the court and cut through traffic with ease scoring inside to force overtime.
Overtime would spell the end for the Spartan’s run at a championship as the Gators would take a 79-72 victory.

“You Can’t Guard Her!”
Burnaby Central willed past Okanagan Mission with a remarkable fourth-quarter performance.
Central would score 24 in the fourth as Jade & Jayla Huynh combined for 12 from beyond the arch.
Jade would score 21 of her game-high 38 from three-point range setting the crowd on fire every time she got the ball. Later in the fourth, it was Jayla who would hit the dagger to send the Wildcats into the semis.
