Walnut Grove Def. Mount Baker 97-30
Walnut Grove had a fantastic start, eliminating Mount Baker. The Gators played physical and forced turnovers resulting in easy transition buckets.
Kiera Pemberton scored a team-high 44 points, and Kyanna Krodel scored 17 in the second half.
The Gators will suit up against the Claremont Spartans tomorrow at 7:00 PM.
Claremont Spartans def Sir Winston Churchill Bulldogs 67-60
The momentum shifted in the Spartan’s favour as they flipped an eleven-point deficit into a nine-point lead late in the third.
The Bulldogs threw everything they had, attempting a comeback and finding themselves down five with less than a minute to go.
Two late free throws from Adia Pye put the game away, finishing the game with 27 points, 21 scored in the second half.
Spartans coach Darren Reisig welcomes the challenge of tough playoff basketball, a style that worked for the Spartans.
“Our group has played tough all year. We’re used to that. I like the way the young ones played to get ready to face Walnut Grove,” said Reisig
Yale Lions def Dr. Charles Best Blue Devils 75-49
The Lions and Blue Devils got off to a physical and chippy battle going back and forth throughout the first half.
The Lions would begin to pull away in the second half of the game, successfully getting in passing lanes and knocking down jumpers from distance.
Yale looked comfortable out there and now looks forward to playing Seaquam.
Yale’s coach Bobby Braich believes the Lions match up well with the Seahawks.
“I think we match up well. They have a big, and we have a big, they can shoot from the perimeter, and we can shoot from the perimeter. It’s going to come down to a few lucky breaks,” said Braich
These two powerhouses face off tomorrow at 8:45 PM.
Seaquam Seahawks Def. Reynolds 85-47
This one got out of hand fast as the Seahawks picked up a victory over Reynolds.
The Seahawks stars shined on day one,
Their clash with the fourth seed Yale will be an exciting battle on both sides of the ball.
Kelowna Owls def South Delta Sun Devils 72-42
Kelowna caught fire from deep, knocking down nine triples as a team to pull away.
#12 drained four three-pointers of her own to help put the Sun Devils away.
The Owls would slow down at points, but South Delta couldn’t take advantage and pull off a comeback.
The Owls have a tall task ahead of them as they face the 2022 finalists, Riverside next.
Riverside Rapids def R.E Mountain Eagles 85-56
The Rapids cruised into the quarter-finals with a dominant performance last night.
Riverside scored in transition with ease making the most of their opportunities with the Owls in attendance.
Rapids coach Paul Langford applauded the girl’s performance and understands the challenge the Rapids face tonight.
“Kelowna is deep and well coached, we certainly have our hands full with them,” said Langford
Okanagan Mission Huskies def Heritage Woods Kodiaks 88-47
The Kodiaks got off to a strong start keeping the game neck and neck between the two teams. The Huskies and Kodiaks tied at 29-29 with minutes remaining in the first half when the Huskies would begin a 15-0 run to pull away.
The Huskies were firmly in the driver’s seat and played on both sides of the ball.
Kanani Coon finished a game-high 28 points, and Presley Hopf pitched in 22 points.

Burnaby Central def Prince George 90-32
The Bulldogs from Burnaby came out of the gates firing, as Ankita Chopra scored 16 of her 24 points in the first quarter. Jade Huynh also caught fire early, scoring 11 in the first quarter.
Burnaby Central will play the Huskies tomorrow.
