South Kamloops faces Pitt Meadows in the first semi final in the AAA tournament. The Titans have not shown us their best basketball yet, as they barely squeaked by 15th seed Carihi and needed a big second half to comeback against Duchess Park. Pitt Meadows needed to comeback in their first round match against Mark Isfeld, but used their size advantage against Richmond to win comfortably. South Kamloops have not shot the ball well all tournament — if they can fix that, they should advance to the final.
The other semi final pits Byrne Creek against North Delta. Byrne Creek won easily against Caledonia, but trailed at half to Sir Charles Tupper before finding their groove in the second half. North Delta has had a similar path, easily defeating their first opponents G.P. Vanier but narrowly winning against McMath. Byrne Creek seemed to struggle against Tupper’s quickness in large stretches — they could have a problem with North Delta, especially against the likes of grade 11 Suraj Gahir.
